FBR increases taxes on business class airline tickets

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Income (FBR) has elevated the tax quantity on business class passengers from Rs10,000 to Rs50,000, Geo Information reported Friday.

The tax will probably be relevant for journey from as we speak (July 1, 2022) whatever the issuance of tickets.

“All business class passengers whose tickets are already issued for travel on July 1 or later are hereby informed that this difference may be collected at the airport by airline staff,” the notification stated.

Confirming the event, the Pakistan Worldwide Airline (PIA) spokesperson stated that the tax hike won’t have an effect on the value of the nationwide provider’s tickets as a result of its planes should not have business class amenities.

He clarified that on PIA’s economic system plus class, comparable taxes that are relevant to the economic system class are utilized.
