KARACHI: Six members of a family and their driver — travelling to Hyderabad from Karachi — went lacking on Wednesday after their car was swept away by a flood following heavy rain in Sindh.

Their automobile was found later within the day on the bank of the Malir River, two to three kilometres away from Karachi’s Hyperlink Street, however rescue officers stated no our bodies had been found.

A relative of the lacking family, Mohammad Danish, instructed Geo Information that his uncle was on his means to Hyderabad after attending a wedding within the port metropolis.

Danish added that aside from a driver, his uncle, aunt, and their 4 youngsters had been travelling within the car.

“Due to rains, they used the link road. As the flow of the water increased, the car was swept away,” he stated, whereas additionally claiming that his uncle had requested the motive force to not use the hyperlink highway.

Saad Edhi, son of Faisal Edhi, stated that because the water stream was quick, the car was swept away to a substantial distance.

“The car will be taken out of the Malir River with the help of heavy machinery. For now, it has been tied to a rock inside the river,” Saad stated, including that the seek for the family is underway.

Lady and youngster drown in flash floods 

In the meantime, a flood from the Thaddo Nadi claimed the life of one girl when it entered Mir Khan Barfat Goth. Fortuitously, her three youngsters had been rescued.
