ISLAMABAD: A police officer was martyred with one other injured, together with three others, in the nation’s capital when armed assailants attacked the staff of a personal housing society, Geo Information reported on Saturday.

The incident came about when unidentified gunmen opened fireplace on the staff of a housing society, injuring three individuals.

After the incident, the police adopted the assailants which led to a shoot out. The firing of the assailants martyred Sub Inspector Liaquat and injured one other cop.

The police say they’ve arrested one injured suspect.

Inside minister warns of extra terror incidents in Islamabad

Final month, Inside Minister Sheikh Rasheed had warned of extra terrorism-related incidents in the federal capital after a policeman was shot lifeless and two others had been injured at a check-point. 

The incident came about on January 17 in which two militants had been additionally shot lifeless throughout a gun battle. It began when two gunmen driving a bike opened fireplace on a police check-point in the neighborhood of the Karachi Firm police station.

The inside minister stated authorities wanted to stay alert, as he famous the incident was “purely of terrorism”. Rasheed stated the authorities had tracked down the “sleeper cell” of the terrorists by their bike.

“Islamabad police and other forces are on alert.”

پولیس کا کہنا ہےکہ ایک ملزم کو زخمی حالت میں گرفتار کرلیا ہے۔
